CHICAGO — Several members of the national Interior Designer Society have formed a new chapter in northern Illinois, IDS - Chicago and Suburban.
"I am excited about working with such a talented group of designers and industry partners through IDS," said chapter President Jan Cregier of Interior Expressions by Jan, in Bartlett, Ill. "A goal of our newly formed chapter is to bring the awareness of the IDS to local communities and other professionals through charitable events, educational opportunities and services."
Other elected board officers of the chapter include Michael Grudecki of Vignette Home Décor in Batavia, vice president; Joanne Nirtaut of Designs By Joanne in Bartlett and Carol Ploshay of Carol Ploshay Designs in Elgin, who are co-secretaries; and Penny Williams of Finishing Touches in Algonquin, treasurer.
Also elected to the board were John R. Plunkett of John Plunkett Designs in Long Grove, chairman of marketing and public relations; Paula Emrick of Tom's Price in Northbrook, chairwoman of education resources for meetings; Darlene Kanoski of Sheerly Elegant in Elgin, liaison for legislation; and Elizabeth Bennett of Room-to-Room Solutions in Orland Park, legislation advisor.
